Session Preparation

Practical Guidelines

(Chi Nei Tsang & Karsai Nei Tsang)

Before the session

A brief pre-session dialogue is an essential part of this work and needs to take place at least one week before the session.

This conversation allows us to clarify the nature of the work, address questions, and assess whether this approach is appropriate at this time.

Please get in touch to arrange a time for this dialogue before booking your session.

On the day of the session

To support the work, you are asked to:

  • take a shower on the same day

  • wear comfortable clothing that allows easy access to the abdomen and pelvic area

Food, fluids, and substances

It is preferable to arrive at the session on an empty stomach.

The longer the fasting period before the treatment, the more receptive the body can be to the work.

If you have specific medical conditions, fasting should be adapted to your individual needs.

Body preparation

  • the abdominal area should be clean and free from creams or oils

  • for Karsai Nei Tsang, genital hygiene is essential

(Further details can be discussed during the pre-session dialogue.)

After the session

In the days following the session, it is recommended to:

  • favour light, warm, and easily digestible foods (avoid raw or cold foods, fermented foods, large amounts of seeds)

  • drink warm water or gentle herbal teas (such as detox or ginger tea)

  • avoid lifting or carrying heavy weights

  • maintain gentle awareness of pelvic floor engagement (including the perineum and the area around the genitals and anus), especially when lifting, carrying, or squatting.

If you are using an intrauterine device (IUD), please inform me during the pre-session dialogue, as additional considerations may apply.

When a session may not be appropriate

Chi Nei Tsang and Karsai Nei Tsang are not appropriate in the following situations:

  • fever or acute infection

  • pregnancy

  • during menstruation
(for menstrual-related work, Karsai Nei Tsang is best offered approximately 7 days before or after menstruation)

  • immediately after eating
(a longer fasting period before the session is preferable)

  • during active cancer treatment

In the case of cancer, this work is best considered only after the completion of medical treatment and with the explicit awareness and approval of the treating physician.

Pre-session dialogue and health considerations

A pre-session dialogue is an essential part of this work and allows us to assess whether Chi Nei Tsang or Karsai Nei Tsang is appropriate at this time.

Topics that may be explored include:

  • blood pressure, diabetes, or heart conditions (these need to be stable and under medical supervision)

  • menstrual cycle timing (for women: where you are in your current cycle)

  • presence of an intrauterine device (IUD) (how long it has been in place and whether there are ongoing side effects)

  • hernia

  • known allergies (including latex or oils)

  • your reasons for seeking this work

The dialogue also serves to assess readiness and openness for the session.

This includes observing physical and behavioural cues that may indicate resistance, excessive striving, or unrealistic expectations.

Additional considerations

If any injury or illness arises between the pre-session dialogue and the session itself, please inform me in advance so we can assess whether postponement is appropriate.

Note

These guidelines are offered to support clarity, safety, and the integrity of the session.

If this feels relevant, you’re welcome to book a session or get in touch for further information.
